« Appealing too are the delicate doodlelike drawings of strawberries, washed over in pale watercolour tones, which appear in many of the pictures. In La séquence des fraises sauvages, strawberries appear, barely noticeably, in a line along the bottom. This peace consists of repeated images of a marshland, with a thirties boy and a car in one. The use of solid bars to frame the picture and the washed out wavy band, containing the strawberries, create a strenght of composition. »
